As the month of September kicked off so does the fashion festivities. New York Fashion Week started last week along with a spiral of shows. As a fashion enthusiast it’s only right that I give you my verdict on some of the shows. So far Derek Lam 10 Crosby’s show had a masculine/feminine touch with military inspiration. It was a lovely start a completely wearable collection, which included pin-striped shirts with belted skirts, and tank tops. Skirts are a trend for SS15, as featured on the Tome collection, and Coach collection. The Suno show went down a treat loved the cropped pants, maxi dresses and ankle grazing dress shirts. I have a thing for the sport lux right now and we can trust that designer Alexander Wang did it very well and produced some very sexy high fashion pieces, which I’m lusting over at the moment. Wang’s show is definitely one of my top five shows. Some of my favourite looks from the Altuzarra catwalk included pin-stripe effects, high-waisted skirts, and gingham prints. The Tibi collection was super cool, I loved the robe trenches, culottes, and wrap blouses. Victoria Beckham’s boxy jackets and smart overcoats were a highlight. Thom Brown shows are always filled with edge and excitement he sure did deliver, the highlights from his show were the incredible hats, which were complementary to each outfit.
